Frequently Asked Questions

Curious about how we craft packaging that’s genuinely kinder to the planet?

Here we answer the questions we hear most often.

Composition

BOC is food-contact-certified tableware and packaging crafted from a refined blend of cereal bran. This plant-based composition yields robust, single-use containers, plates, bowls and dishes of considerable strength.

Produced using a proprietary process that requires neither water consumption nor chemical additives, BOC is certified safe for food contact.

Derived from plant-based origins, BOC is designed to undergo biological decomposition, subject to environmental factors and the capabilities of local processing infrastructure. It is suitable for co-mingling with organic remnants where specialist facilities accommodate such materials—a protocol already embraced by premier festivals, outdoor events, and distinguished large-scale caterers.

Intended Use

Versatile and eminently practical, BOC serves as both food packaging and disposable tableware for consumers, cafés, restaurants and food suppliers alike. By choosing BOC, businesses can meet rising regulatory requirements and consumer expectations for plastic-free alternatives while maintaining the highest standards of quality and convenience.

Our ediplate® and edicup® products are designed for short-term contact with a wide range of processed foods, including hot-served items. For optimal performance, limit use to approximately 60 minutes. They perform particularly well with liquids of dynamic viscosity exceeding 1.731 mPa·s (such as most soups, sauces and yoghurts), minimising absorption while maintaining structural integrity.

The BRANBOX™ range is suitable for packaging and refrigerated storage of selected fresh produce (e.g. vegetables and fruit) for 7–14 days under appropriate conditions.

All BOC products may be safely used in conventional ovens and microwaves. For further guidance on usage or performance, please contact us.

Country of Origin

Poland, European Union

All BOC products are manufactured in the Podlasie region of north-eastern Poland. Approximately 95% of our raw materials are sourced directly from this area, ensuring full traceability and minimal transport distances.

Storage and Transportation

To maintain their quality and integrity, store these items in clean, dry, well-ventilated premises, protected from moisture, direct sunlight, and adverse weather conditions. Take care to avoid any exposure to wetting or dampness. With proper handling, the products will arrive and remain in excellent condition, ready for use.

Shelf Life

Under the recommended storage conditions, these items enjoy a shelf life of 24 months.

Packaging

Individual items are presented collectively with care in heat-shrink film. These are then placed into sturdy, recycled cardboard boxes, each bearing precise labelling for full traceability and compliance. For distribution, the boxes are securely palletised on standard EUR/EPAL pallets, with quantities, dimensions, and total weight tailored to specification. Should you require further details on pallet configurations, we should be pleased to provide them. For larger orders, we are happy to accommodate additional customer-specific labelling or carton marking as requested.

BOC products are food-contact-certified tableware crafted from a blend of cereal bran. This plant-derived composition yields robust, single-use plates, bowls and dishes.

Made from plant-based, food-grade ingredients with no plastics, chemical coatings or synthetic additives, BOC products may undergo biological breakdown subject to environmental factors and the capabilities of local processing infrastructure. They are not certified as compostable. Being entirely fit for consumption, these articles may be managed in tandem with organic food remnants where local infrastructure accommodates such materials. Preliminary laboratory disintegration testing per EN 14806:2005 showed physical breakdown in simulated composting conditions within less than 30 days (report details available on request).

BOC tableware have been successfully used at major European festivals and outdoor events. In selected cases, used tableware has been successfully processed into compost by festival organisers and composting facilities.
